Description

****The Briar Rose Challenge voting is open**** If you want to check out some creative and talented people, then go see what they did with their fat eighths. http://quiltsandwichfabrics.com/blogs/news/14803057-briar-rose-challenge-projects   to vote just leave a comment for your favorite project. I just cast my vote for the "Fluttering" Quilt. A lot of time and work went into making that quilt, and its lovely!!!!

I signed up for my very first Challenge last month. This is my finished and submitted project for the Briar Rose Challenge @http://quiltsandwichfabrics.com/blogs/news/13918281-briar-rose-challenge.
I was sent two fat eighths of fabric from the Briar Rose Collection (I got lucky with mine). I received Strawberry's in Pink and Hex Bee in pink.
I ended up making a little notions pouch with snap to hold my threads and smaller tools. The strawberry on the front is a sew-ichigo pattern which can be purchased here:http://sew-ichigo.blogspot.com/p/shop.html.
I stuffed my strawberry to use as a built in pin cushion. I also fussy cut the bee's out to make Hexie's for the back. The rest of the fabric is from my stash(Essex linen, Briar Rose Frog pond(lining) and sketch green).
This was more of a challenge to myself to be try and be creative and finish a project in the allotted time, not to compete....and I DID IT!!! YEAH!!!
There are some really talented ladies doing this challenge so I know there are going to be some amazing and creative projects showing up when it's closer to voting time.
I actually made a mini quilt first, but I hated it so I stopped and made this pouch with the fabric I had left (so much for creativity LOL).

Skynme , I know you weren't trolling for votes, but I had to go with my hive mate cuz I really love your pouch, too cute!

HawkFan

I voted for yours too - did I read that right that someone voted for their own project? Nothing wrong with that it's not that common.
