Description

My thirteen-month-old has a cow security blanket that she adores, her "Gow" (the hard C is tricky sound for her still). She has trouble falling asleep without it, and wants to carry it around most places. Because of that, it's tricky to wash--I either start the laundry immediately after she wakes up or wait until she's fast asleep and sneak it out of her crib and hope she stays asleep. So, since I had stuffed cow pattern from the Funky Friends Factory, I got some Michael Miller minky fabric (on sale at Ben Franklin) to make a couple more. The yellow flannel for this one's face, horns, and hooves is left over from the pillowcases and Apatosaurus I sewed her earlier.

I just sewed together the front half of the Patty the Cow pattern (http://www.funkyfriendsfactory.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=cow), and sewed it onto a 15 by 15 inch square. My mom helped with the satin edging.

And as you can see by the picture, success! She's sleeping with both of her new gows.

I just now saw this, what a sweet little security blanket(s). Super cute and I know they are super soft due to the minky. Great job!

Thanks! They're not quite done yet--they still need the satin edging. But soon! I hope Miss A likes them. Worst case scenario, I can donate them to a nearby crisis pregnancy center.

Siffstitch And still wearing her uncle's old PJs! Glad I had them here for her to wear home last night. Did she go all night with these new Gows?
