Description

Took a class at Spool of Thread (Vancouver) to learn how to quilt. That makes this the first quilt I ever made.

Great first quilt...love the fabrics!

LissaG

True Thanks again - I appreciate the support since I'm just learning.

I wish my first quilt was this nice! I can barely look at mine. I like the Modern feel to it!

Charlie

LissaG, this is such a great quilt. I like the modern colorway and the placement of the blocks of color. Now you can go on to the next one. I am kindof stuck at the moment so it is encouraging to see a first quilt done! Congratulations!

LissaG

Terryt1955 It helped to have a great instructor. I ran into her (at a local fabric store) the other day and told her that she created an addict - she laughed and said that was her job!

LissaG

Charlie Thanks - I do like this quilt, especially when I don't look too closely at how I sewed up the binding - and how un-mitered my mitered corners are! I'm thinking of doing a very small project next, like a mug rug, maybe that would get you un-stuck?

Charlie

Good idea. My table is 'littered' with small projects and I HAVE to get going because I'm supposed to put some things in our guild's Boutique during the show in Sept and then in Oct I have to have some nice things to put in the artisinal booth at our college homecoming AND it's our 40th reunion and I'm the point person for that. Whew! no wonder I'm feeling stuck; too many things on my plate and sewing table. Oops, sorry, and thanks for the inspiration. OK, time to get off-line and conquor the monsters. :-)

Great first quilt! The colorful fabrics look great against the chocolate brown.

LissaG

Charlie Well, that explains why you're 'stuck' - you're not stuck,. you're just too busy... ;0)

LissaG

sew_what Thanks - its one of my favourite colour combinations. I made this quilt to drape over a chair in the living room that has the same colours in it. We use it mostly in the winter when its cold out.

Charlie

LissaG yep, so I did something quickly (made a cover for a purse and now I think I'm on the go! Thanks for the encouragement

LissaG

Charlie Good for you!

Charlie

Thanks for the encouragement LissaG. We quilters (seamstress, un-seamstresses, etc) have got to stick together.
