Description

Loved this applique quilt.  Stepped out of my box and am using all brights. We'll see.

5/28 - It's done!  This quilt was originally going to be done with the needle turn applique method.  Changed my mind after first block...not quite skilled enough for this.  I think it turned out cute, even with the bright fabrics.  Maybe I need to start doing more things with brighter fabric vs. my preferred civil war fabrics.
For the quilting I just did a simple all over meander type design.

This is wonderful - I am partial to brights...and this is a perfect use of them. Such a cheerful quilt!

I too love the civil-war repros, but this quilt is outstanding in the brights. Congrats on the color choices and placement for each block!

So pretty! And what kind of stitch did you end up using once you decided to forget the needle turn? Will you be able to wash it? I love the look of applique but can't imagine how long it would take to do an entire quilt with needle turn. P.S. I LOVE your bright colors.

Beautiful!

Thanks for all the great feedback! Terry- I ended up using a blind hem stitch with the machine so it will do fine through the wash. Carol Marie the pattern is called Aunt Millie's Garden by Piece O' Cake Designs (Becky Goldsmith & Linda Jenkins).
