LJ's night gown by Speattle
I wanted to make a sweet flannel night gown for my granddaughter. This is a Toddler 1 size of the pattern. Kwik Sew 3423. The techniques were not new to me, but I am still learning how to do them on my new computerized sewing machine. The pattern calls for overcasting some of the seams, so I was able to try out some of the many new stitches available to me with this machine and the clever foot that makes overcasting more precise.
The flannel is new. I purchased it a few weeks ago. The lace trim was on another outfit for this child's mother when she was the same age (1 and a half).
I intentionally left of the buttons at the yoke opening. I am always paranoid about them falling off in the crib and becoming a choking hazard. The neck does not need the buttons to stay sitting nicely on her.
