Little Christmas Notions Bag by Siffstitch
I"m sending a care package to someone who loves Christmas. Her husband is having some pretty major surgery, and they could both use a nice package. I'm also sending local chocolates and wildflower seeds (they live in another country and have a garden) and poppy seeds (her favorite flower) and some fancy chocolate coffee.
The bag is very simple, with the zipper installation inspired by LazyGirl's Run-around Bag. I'm gradually making an Advent calendar wall hanging, and cut some extra pieces. So I picked four of them plus a narrow strip of glittery green fabric and made a tiny zippered bag. This person knits and crochets a lot of Christmas gifts and likes to add little buttons and notions, so I'm sending some along inside the bag. She can use it for storing her own or whatever she feels like.
I don't know what the fabrics are; the pieces I bought didn't have the names on the edge, but they're from Hancock Fabric, except the little green strip--that and the red zipper are from Gathering Fabric in Woodinville. The fabrics are sandwiched around some batting to give the bag structure.
