Advent Calendar Wall Hanging for LJ by Siffstitch
Home & Decoration
Finally done with my daughter's fourth birthday present! There are 24 pockets of various sizes, each holding a knitted Christmas ornament. The pockets have number beads sewn on them and little buttons or charms to represent what's inside. I painted or outright made several of those (and knit all the ornaments, too). Each day in December she can get one ornament for the tree, counting down to Christmas Eve. I'm going to enter it in the fair, too.
The pink snowflake fabric was printed at Spoonflower, where you can upload pictures to design your own fabrics. I got this from a stock photo website, www.rgbstock.com. A user named xymonau had this in her gallery. The pockets were originally half-yard cuts from Hancock Fabric and Gathering Fabric, in Kirkland and Woodinville respectively. The names weren't on the bits I bought.
Second place at the Evergreen State Fair.
