Description

THANK YOU WENDY for letting me know this is not the satellite pillow LOL...the brain has checked out. Finished the first jewel of the sea pillow, I did one Fall and one Winter version. Both were made from a $10 bag of mixed scraps from fig tree and co. There was two orphan blocks in the scrap bag and I used one of them for the back. I also did Wendy's hidden zipper and I tried skinny binding for the first time. The winter pillow still needs to be backed and binded.

Love them both! Amazing that they came from a bag of mixed scraps. Also, the prints for center strips and frames worked well - I hadn't thought of using other than a solid.

Skynme

Readerowl thanks!! I was trying to use as many of the scraps as possible but I still have a bag and a half left. There were no solids so I just used multiple print strips for the outside borders. My daughter likes the winter one the best.

Love your pillows... So when you got scrap bag what size are pieces?

Skynme

True they are definately scraps. Some pieces are 1/2" some were 2.5"-3.5"squares( used on carols surprise granny blocks). Some pieces were larger but not as big as a FQ( used in feather blocks for operation give warmth) There were also two orphan blocks in my bag so I am trying to use all this up. I've used the scraps in 3 differnt projects now and still have a lot

HawkFan danadane Carolmarie Caribousmom Drnic2c Thank you so much everyone!!! I am just happy that I have been able to get caught up with some of these projects. It's nice to be able to have the time to get back on track and get so much sewing done.

HawkFan

Yes it looks like you're making the most (no pun intended) of your retirement!

Quilt455

I think I need to retire so I can do more quilting! These are so pretty. Just love Fig tree fabrics.I like the fall one but love the winter one, just shows what a difference fabric can make.
