My daughter has a cow security blanket that she adores, her Gow. I sewed her two extras so that when she's asleep, I can give her a replacement Gow and wash her favorite one without her waking up and being upset that Gow is gone. My cousin has a daughter who's six days older, and she has the same toy (they were both gifts from our aunt). Since her daughter likes to sleep with the toy too, and I had some fabric left, I made another Gow.
Most of it is Michael Miller minky fabric (on sale at Ben Franklin) to make a couple more. There's a bit of pink polka dot fabric, also Michael Mililer, from Pacific Fabric, and some left over pink minky fabric (also from Ben Franklin, left over from another project) for the bottom layer, since there wasn't quite enough yellow.
I just sewed together the front part of the Patty the Cow pattern (http://www.funkyfriendsfactory.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=cow), and sewed it onto a 15 by 15 inch square. My mom helped with the satin edging.
