Description

Decided to use some wonderful leftover fabric from a couple of baby quilts to make a couple to donate to the Barbara Bush Hospital's Pediatric ICU.  Have them spray basted and ready to quilt.

Update 8-17-14  Both quilts done and ready to be delivered.  Sarah Jane one is 24" x 24" and I used white, blue and red thread to quilt.  The other one is 22" x 28" and I used color thread to do all the quilting.  Hope these help brighten a tough time for some family!

Cute prints and what a great use for scraps!

Caribousmom

You're on a roll, Mary - wonderful as always! I especially like the Sarah Jane one :)

True

Caribousmom HawkFan thank you both...and when I realized I had enough of these fabrics left for small quilts seemed the perfect use. And these are infant size so small.

Cute quilting on these and I love the backing on the Sarah Jane quilt. What a great cause too!

True

HawkFan Thank you... I love that backing it is what I used on first quilt I made with fabric and it is just so cute and so soft!

Caribousmom

Mary these are wonderful - they look so cuddly. I love how you quilted the blue/green quilt with those squiggly lines - it goes great with the feel of the fabric.

You are definitely on a roll! Having had a toddler in the hospital I can say that had I received one of these lovelies it would have made me feel so comforted that someone cared enough to make a quilt for my baby. And coming from a complete stranger makes it even more special.Well done!!

True

Caribousmom thank you...I kept dreaming about those lines so had to do them!

Terryt1955 Thank you and I thought the same thing... my son was overnight in ICU at birth and we got lucky and he did not get transferred to Children's. But he also had surgery at 6 weeks (different issue) and again as a teen and getting a quilt like these would have meant so much to me. I am going to keep making, them as I have fabric that works, as it makes me feel good :-)

Ormondbeach thank you and they were so fun to make.
