When I inherited piles of vintage fabric from my great grandmother and grandmother, I decided the best thing to do with all of it was make quilts. I decided to take a beginner's quilting class at one of my local quilting shops, Heyde Sewing Machine Co
. It was a fabulous class. Not only did I get all the supplies I needed, but I learned some valuable tips that showed me how to save time and materials. I also found learning, in person, with a group made not only new friends but the difference between doing it wrong and right!
So, my first quilt was a black/white/gray material quilt (all material bought at the shop). I finished the top, the back and bought the batting, but I've never gotten it quilted. My machine is TINY and there is no way I can quilt it by myself. I'm going to take it to someone here in town to quilt - support your local quilters, right?
