I got second place (red ribbons) in knitting for the set of dishcloths, and a baby sock/hat set.
I got first place (blue ribbons) in knitting for my wingspan, a pair of baby socks, a color blocked baby afghan, and a crocheted washcloth with embroidery on it (this also earned a special ribbon for “Merit Award”.)
In sewing I got first place for a Christmas pillow, Christmas stocking, and set of 2 matching girl’s sundresses. I also got First place + Class Winner on a hanging tab dishtowel, and First Place + Class Winner on a Snowman quilted wall holiday decoration. I entered a Triple zipper bag in a special non-judged bag display and everyone there got a green participant ribbon attached.
In Embroidery I earned First Places for a small yellow duck stuffed
toy, a sewn pillow with Cinderella embroidered on it, and a green tea
towel with cutlery embroidered. Then I also earned a first place + Class
Runner Up for the apron I sewed with “Alice in Wonderland” embroidery
(my granddaughter’s last year Halloween costume).
Finally, I earned another First Place + Class Winner + Division Winner for a tea-towel embroidered with forks and food bites!
All in all, it was a very good year! I’m happy ☺ :)
Wow! Nice collection of finished projects and ribbons. I love fairs too. Sorry I missed this one.
Thank you. Are you in the Seattle area? If so, you should consider entering this fair next year. It is loads of fun (well, I think so anyway) and the Evergreen Fair is a nice size. Not too big, not too small and very old-fashioned, retro, easy feel to it.
I am planning on entering something at Evergreen next year.
That is great! Looking forward to seeing that then. Please consider joining our "going to the fair" group here on threadbias.
Speattle I have relocated to Southern Oregon. Been here about a year. They do have a really nice county fair in Jackson County. I hope to enter some things there next summer.
Charwirfs , that is awesome. A number of years ago I entered an intricate cross-stitched piece into the fair at Fryeburg, Maine. I was so thrilled to win a blue ribbon there so I can only imagine how incredible it was for you to win so many ribbons in the same fair. I hope you enter some art quilts in Oregon's fair next year.
