Description

This is the easy pillow for October in the Pillow Pop book.

This super simple design uses 2.5" squares to form the crosses...so I thought I would use 2 mini charm packs of the Comma Collection by Zen Chic for Moda. I didn't have quite enough squares to make a 20" pillow, so I just eliminated a horizontal and vertical row and transformed it into an 18" pillow.

After I had stitched all the rows together, it struck me that these colors really read Halloween...and since we are not too far from that fun holiday, I decided to make this a Halloween pillow. I dragged out some of my stashed Ghastlie fabric (oh, how I love that stuff!) and crafted a pieced back. I fussy cut a little square for the top and used some charcoal peppered cotton to give the back a bit of a pop. It has a hidden zipper too.

I used orange thread to quilt this pillow with straight lines in both directions.

True Thanks, Mary :) I was just waiting for an excuse to use that Ghastlie fabric (I think Audrey's pillow pushed me over the edge!!! LOL)

What cave have I been hiding in that I don't know anything about Ghastlies fabric? What a great reversible pillow this is!

Caribousmom

HawkFan You inspired me with your earlier pillow, Audrey! I just had to grab one of those little images and give it a special spot on the back :)

Skynme

cally68 Thanks, Valerie - I didn't realize how Halloween like that fabric was until I started sewing with it :)

danadane

I love the back as much as the front!

Caribousmom

danadane Thank you!

Cseawright

Love it.
And because I am a new bee at quilting, what does fussy cut mean?

Caribousmom

Cseawright Thanks, Cindy :) Fussy cut means you select a part of the print and cut is so that it will be showcased in the block.

Awwwwww, thanks Wendy.
