Description

I think I'm going to give this one to my Grandson.  It's a cute pattern with the alphabet applique in the middle and stripes on both sides.  It uses 1 layer cake for the stripes and letters. I've already cut and sewn the stripes and just need to cut the letters and bonding paper.  I'm currently unable to sew because of a recent surgery that limits my lifting to less than 10 lbs for 3-6 months.  My Janome 6600 is WAY heavier than that, and is currently in a room where the overhead light is non-functioning.  So I'm limited to cutting only until my husband comes home from working in the Gulf of Mexico so he have move it or fix the light. Using Basic Grey's "Peanut butter & Jelly" fabric.

12/1/14: Finished preparing the letters for applique and have them laid out where I want them to go. Just need to iron them on in place.

4/30/15 Have put this on the back burner because I had issues with the applique stitching.  I've ripped it all out and am considering just stitching it in a regular straight stitch instead of the zigzag.

What a fun project!

The straight stitching will go a lot faster. I love the freedom you get with applique but hate having to sew it down
