Baptism dress for L.J. 2014 by Speattle
The second of 2 dresses I am making for 2 of my granddaughters who are going to be baptized in October. This one is the larger one with the pink sash.
I still need to add on the sash loops to hold the ribbon in place.
Both dresses are fully lined and have zipper closures on the back. The pattern is Butterick 4701, (OOP). I first used the pattern in 2006 to make the flower girl dresses for my daughter's wedding, but used a different view with a gathered, rather than flared skirt.
This dress is a size 4 girls. The little one is a size 1T.
9/29/2014: dress is finally completed! I found the perfect little flower embellishments to use as sash loops at Michael's, of all places! That was a relief as M's is less than a mile from my house and the fabric store that sells what I was looking for is quite a ways away. The dress pattern calls for a bodice lining, and I also opted to add a lining to the skirt as well.
The sequin trim at the hem line helps the dress to flare out more. This little girl loves to spin in her dresses, and I think she will have fun doing that in this dress.
10/6/2014 Baptism day is here! I made the girls cards since I could not find ones I liked in any store. They are also getting little silver crosses with pearls in the center.

Finally! A decent picture with proper lighting to show the sparkle of the dresses.
