Description

Besides a single log cabin block in a sampler quilt, I had never done a large number of log cabin blocks. I also wanted to try my hand at a lone star quilt as well. So why not merge them together into one project?

This quilt was made entirely from "scraps" that I had as well as leftovers my mom had from the same series of fabrics. They are Mode Kansas Troubles. The top was entirely machine pieced and the quilt top was quilted by my aunt who has a long-arm quilting machine.

It was entered into the Tulip Time Quilt Show in May of 2014 and placed 4th for People's Choice!

This is gorgeous! Love the two patterns together. I have a log cabin on my some day to do list...very pretty. And even better all scraps.

Beautiful, classic-looking quilt

Wow! Now this is an heirloom quilt if I ever saw one.

Beautiful quilt on every level - I can see why it captured an award! Love that it was composed of all scraps. Just gorgeous!
