"Elsa" from Frozen gown for LJ 2014 by Speattle
10/12/2014: Still needs sleeves, bodice lining, and hemming.
For my almost four year old granddaughter. complicated pattern, but works out if one takes their time. I had to re-think the overlay as I only had a yard of the fabric (pattern calls for 3!) and I wanted to use this piece leftover from wedding dress auditioning in 2006.
I found the sequin swirl fabric in the bodice on a clearance table and I ended up using very little of the yard I have, so it will be used again for something.
The pattern goes together pretty straight forwardly, but there are a LOT of little (and a bit tedious) steps, so take your time.
I think my granddaughter will love it!
Oct. 20--- After sewing on the sleeves a few days ago, I decided to remove them and face the sleeve hole. The sleeves were very narrow and seemed constricting. If it is cold out, she can wear a long sleeved white shirt underneath.
She LOVES the dress! It was hard to photograph her because she would not look at me. She just wanted to down at her dress.
She was too interested in looking at the dress to look up at the camera!
close up of bodice detail. I found the piece of blue netting with the sequin design on a clearance table.
Yay it fits and is a good length for not tripping.
Very sparkly in the afternoon sunshine.
