I love cross/plus blocks! They're simple, with impact. I realize we're heading into Thanksgiving and Christmas, so I wanted to have a simple block for everyone to be able to finish off quickly. I'll be making a wallhanging out of all our blocks.
This block is based on border #7 of the Marcelle Medallion quilt, from the book Liberty Love. The unfinished size of the block is 5 1/2", and the finished size is 5".
Cross: Bright colors.
Background: Light background print.
We're moving on October 28th/29th, so I will send a personal message to each of you with our new address.
Thanks, Newbee friends!!!
Update: December 30th--I've received blocks from 9 members so far.
Update: February26th--I gave up on the person who hadn't sent me a block yet.:unamused: My friend in Tokyo made a couple blocks, and I made a few more myself, to fill in, added a border.
The FMQ is "Adrift" from the book "Step by Step Free-Motion Quilting", by Christina Cameli, done by me, on my longarm. :heartpulse:
Finished!!! I had to hang it by 3 cords, since the wall is stucco and the quilt is so long! A moulding stick runs through the hanging sleeve (which has an opening in the middle). I drilled holes in the 3 points--middle and both ends, and ran cord through them. The cord loops hang from hooks that I put in the ceiling, near the wall.
