Description

When Jo's WIP reached me, I was really stymied on what to add. It looked "finished" to me. But that made for a good challenge. Improvi has no rules so I knew I could add anything to it. I liked the contained symmetry it had even though I am all about taking things off center. It also had a Frank Loyd Wright look to it so I went into my stash an added some rounded appliqués in the same color theme, keeping it all neat and tidy. My addition hardly changed it much but I like it. Headed to Joke in Australia now....

Mymble

Wow- just amazing Char- you rocked it for sure!

Charwirfs

Mymble thank you. I think Jo is gonna like all of our rounds. Looking forward to getting mine. I know you are done...just waiting for some wheels to get you to the PO.

Mymble

Yes, and truly if you want me to take it off and do something else I don't mind- didn't mean to make work for you

Charwirfs

Mymble no, please do not take it out! Sorry to give you the wrong impression...I often add to my RR 's. Sometimes they becomes center medallions for larger quilts. My message was, "I am excited to get this back! I know what I want to do to make it even better." Funny...how our typed messages can take on different meanings.

Mymble

LOL_ well I certainly understand :)- sometimes I can have an idea that looks cool to me but just causes other people to scratch their heads so I don't mind...glad you can make it work- if anyone can I know you can!

Charwirfs

Mymble thanks Margaret. I'll post a photo when done. I like the direction you took on it!

Mymble

thanks Char- can't wait to see how you finish it!

HawkFan

Another great job Char - I love your addition and agree that the whole piece is wonderful

Charwirfs

HawkFan I always appreciate your encouraging messages. Thank you.

Joke

Oh the additional pops of colour really change how it's looking! It's going to be an interesting one to quilt...! Thanks for your work on it Charwirfs !

Charwirfs

So pleased you like it Joke . It will be arriving soon. I can't wait to see how you finish this. True, there is so much color and pattern going on it will be tricky to quilt. A simple outline design would keep the Frank Loyd Wright look, but an overall design would look great too! No worries though. Your choice o quilting design will be awesome.

Joke

Charwirfs I'm actually thinking of using it as the back of the quilt with my bee blocks (kind of making it double sided). The colours in my blocks are actually quite similar so I think it will work really well. Depending on how big it all ends up I might put some of the blocks with it also to bring it all to the same size, but I'll work that out later!

Charwirfs

Great idea Joke . The backs of my quilts are filled with beautiful and interesting art quilts. I love the punch of color and the interest it gives to the whole piece. It will look great. I hope you add a photo to this when you finish.
