Description

We are organizing my mother-in-law's things as she has moved to assisted living, and one thing we found was her old sewing machine. Her newer one went home with a daughter, but this one has not been claimed.  It has a couple missing parts, including the foot controller and cord, but has a box of feet and a button hole attachment.  Also the instruction booklet.
I assume the power cord, motor, belt, etc. need to be checked out as well as replacement parts obtained, but for now, I just like looking at it.

Any advice? Sell, fix and use, or keep for sentimental reasons?

I would keep it...

Readerowl , lucky you. I don't have that model, but some of the sewing machine collectors on my groups just rave about the 15 series. Those old machines were built really well. If you PM me, I'd be happy to point you to some resources for finding out more about it, including any parts that might be missing, or need to be refurbished. BY the Serial number that one dates to 1947, according to ISMACS. Nice find!

Sizzlewaggle Thanks! I found a couple accounts online of people who fixed up this model, and some parts places. When I get serious about it, I'll ask you to tap your groups for info.
