Description

This was my first quilt in over 5 years. I had purchased an Accuquilt Go and liked the Hunters Star block. Big mistake. Bit off more than I could chew. Took me about 10 months to finish. Should have started with a simpler design. I was making a lap quilt for my boyfriend, who is always colder than me. So I chose basic brown and white fabrics. Once I got the top together I didn't just want a plain brown back, so I made a large half-square triangle star in the center. I had a heck of a time deciding how to quilt it. After stitching in the ditch I tried some free-motion meandering. Didn't like it. Ripped it out. Tried a stencil. Ripped it out. Finally did some straight line stitching using a decorative stitch on my machine. Not satisfied but tired of ripping so slapped on the binding and called it done.

I love two-color quilts, and this one looks good with the high contrast. You did more ripping than I would have considered. Finding the right quilting design is quite a challenge.
