Description

I took my beginner quilting class at Quilter's Emporium after purchasing my sewing machine from them.  This beautiful quilt is the result.  The class covered fabric selection, measuring, rotary cutting, piecing and borders.  I used a binding with flange technique I found on Pinterest.  The quilting is custom by Margaret Gunn of Mainly Quilts of Love (http://www.mainelyquiltsoflove.com).

It doesn't look "beginner" to me. Very beautiful! I love the fabrics you chose. :)

itsvictoria08 Thank you! I have to give credit to Margaret for choosing and placing quilting motifs that helped to hide some of the "troublesome" spots :)

I love this quilt! I took my beginning quilting class from Quilters Emporium, too. But we didn't learn all of these blocks. I really like yours.

bebejohnson I searched the internet to find patterns of additional blocks to add to the 4 blocks taught in class. The techniques taught in class were comprehensive enough that I was able to conquer the patterns I found, including size adjustment. Rose Ann was amazing and helped guide me through their construction when I had trouble. I owe my rapid progress in sewing and quilting to Rose Ann, Pam, Jan, Sylvi and the many other instructors that teach at Quilter's Emporium. In choosing to learn at Quilter's Emporium, I didn't just take classes, I became part of a supportive quilting family!

That is so true. I love that they are always offering to help, and want to see the finished product too. But, I feel a littke guilty that I'm there so much several call me by name when I walk through the door. LOL.
