"Charmed" Wallhanging by Quilterinmotion
I found this pattern while looking for other things and fell in love with it immediately. Almost instantly I knew I had the perfect deep red wool to do the flowers with so I decided to do a cotton background and do all the applique in wool. www.ankastreasures.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/charmed-free-pattern-for-blog1.pdf
This is a 14"x20" wallhanging so the applique pieces are quite good-sized. That makes for a quick finish. I started this on New Year's Eve day and finished it three days later.
The pattern is well written, free, and a lovely finish. I used Connecting Threads "Royal Tea" fabrics as the red I had on hand from that line matched the deep red wool I wanted to use for the flowers.
All the wool applique is stitched with a buttonhole stitch by hand.
The binding is finished. I used the same green in the second border to bind with. I hung it in the only place I have in the RV. They don't leave much blank space; most of it is filled with windows and necessities. There was a mirror on the now blank wall and it made the perfect place to hang all the hangings I make.
