Description

I made this quilt entirely out of Japanese motif fabrics. I made one for myself, while a group of 7 or 8 of us from church made one for the church. We hand quilted the group quilt and it hangs in church in Mitaka, Tokyo. I custom quilted mine on my longarm.

Hangs on our hallway wall! Finally!!! Yaay!!!

Updating this project with photos of this quilt hanging in our hallway. It right at the top of the basement steps, so I admire at it everytime I come up the stairs! I plan on entering it in our guild's upcoming quilt show.

Ibtreerock Mymble Thanks, fellow quilters!!! I love that I can look at it as I walk up the steps of our new home.

Aizome yes- it really looks great there - love the "in situ" shot!

Mymble Thanks! The straight-on view is coming up those basement steps, so it's from a lower angle. Then thought I'd get the side-on shots. I love seeing other's quilt homes.

Wow-this is amazing!!! I cannot even imagine the amount of time spent on this-it is beautiful. It reminds me of some of the beautiful quilts I have seen hanging in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints History Center in Salt Lake City.

Vwgirl Thank you, Michelle! It probably took me about a year, working on the blocks one at a time, with embroidery and all. The group quilt probably took 2 years, with the hand quilting we did. It was a great group bonding time.
