Description

made from the aimee ray pattern. I used crayon color transfer and hand embroidered these lovely ladies

** adding some more details for a friend that asked 12/27/2012

This was printed onto laser transfer paper. I have an inkjet and I printed on them anyway and it was fine. Be very careful to give it adequate time to dry or the black will smudge. Then, once its dry color and blend in the portions you want. I believe I ironed on high heat no steam. Be really careful not to shift the paper as you iron or your transfer will be ruined. Once its adhered, iron in nice even rows  until its hot to the touch. Let it cool slightly. Lay it flat on the table and hold the fabric steady with one hand, peel the transfer paper up from the bottom center and and pull up and back quickly and carefully. I've had the paper tear and get all funky if it gets too cool after ironing. These are just my experiences and hopefully it helps!!

I used your run of the mill crayola crayons on this. I just keep it in the hoop, so I can't guarantee that the color would get weird if you tried to wash the finished piece. If you want to be able to wash it, I'd try using fabric markers/pencils and maybe some rubbing alcohol to get a water color effect.

For  really detailed portions make sure you separate your six strand floss to one or two strands. Otherwise you lose all of the beautiful detail!

I love this and have been looking at all your handwork. It's so beautiful. We're also fans of Aimee Ray here too - she designed our logo and did all the illustrations on the Threadbias.

Rebecca

Beautiful! I love how you combined the crayon color transfer with embroidery.

Gorgeous! And thanks for the transfer tips.

I'm in the mood to embroider. It's my OCCD;). Obsessive compulsive crafters disorder with ADD - attention deficit disorder. in a nutshell I juggle way too many projects that I don't finish

Jennifleur

I never get tired of looking at this one.

Jen you should do this one! I bet you would do a really beautiful version!!!

Jennifleur

Ah you have such faith. I haven't embroidered anything since I was eight! Maybe I should come over and you could give me a refresher course?

Goldwillow
