Description

11 January 2015: - In the Little Quilt Sew Along for January we had to make Drawn Together. I had to do this as it is a star and after days of trying to work out colours I went for red and white. The Outer ring is a cream/sand colour - although it doesn't look this way in the picture. So far I have put 1/2 the block together, but am now running out of natural light to accurately put the point together, and apparently children require dinner!18

18 January 2015: - Complete. I started hand quilting, but really did not like the look, so I just did a quick bit of quilting on the machine. I really love this. Now to find somewhere to hang it. Will take a better picture in daylight

I really love this in the two colors...beautiful. And kids I just do not get why they think we need to feed them a few times a day;-)

Mymble

Wonderful idea to do it in red and white - beautiful!

Capetowngirl

Mymble True thank you. I have a slight red and white obsession, and therefore a fair bit of fabric in these colours.

Readerowl

I pulled reds and whites as possibilities for my star - but they didn't work as well as yours do! Really wonderful results.

Sewhappy

Looking fabulous. Loving your colour choices smiley

Skynme

I love the red and white combo! This looks fantastic!

Gardencrafter

The minimalist design of using two colors is a great idea for this block. Looks great!

What an awesome finish!

Drnic2c

Love just the two colors. Have you found a place to hang it yet?

Capetowngirl

nachtpedalquilts Caribousmom HawkFan Thank you - I love my red and white

Capetowngirl

Drnic2c Can't decide where to hang it yet. My sewing rooms walls are a brick red colour and I'm not sure if it goes well here. Will have to put it up in a few places and see where I like it best

Caribousmom

What a fantastic finish! Love, love, love!

Capetowngirl

Caribousmom thank you. Hope you don't mind but I borrowed your quilting idea.

Caribousmom

cally68

great interpretation!

HeartlandMarie

This is just so pretty. I'm really impressed by how different each one looks, just by virtue of the different fabric choices. Yours looks very "vintage" to me. Lovely.

Capetowngirl

cally68 thank you
HeartlandMarie - I agree. I am loving how every one looks so different. I think this is one of the reasons I love this group, and last years Pillow Pop.

luvstitching
