Description

After my 2014 focus on skill building, I realized I needed a little break from technical sewing and have fun. Armed with a charm pack and some scrap white, I let my mind flow. 90 minutes later I had this baby quilt top.

Ahhhh.... so it is the quilt that was accidental, not the baby!

I really like it. I love quilts with grid type construction.

What are you using for the backing?

No accidental babies here - DH would freak!

I have a green solid in my stash and will use up the remaining charms for a fun strip down middle. Right now my focus is using up my stash before buying new stuff. It has been fun sewing through stash and using up UFOs.

Sewing through stash, a noble pursuit if there ever was one! I need to do more of that and less visits to the fabric store.

I just finished a quilt and a pillow for my grandson and I am proud to say that no newly purchased fabrics were used in it. I even pieced the batting and it was just enough and I used threads from stash as well.

I am participating in Project:Leasa's Sew your Stash challenge this year. The target is the at least 50% of the project materials come from your stash - so far that has not been a problem for me.
