Description

My daughter's in preschool now, so she needs a backpack. Originally she was using a Disney-princess-themed canvas bag that you might have for groceries (birthday present from her paternal grandparents) but she wanted a backpack like her classmates, plus she was pretty rough on the canvas bag and it's wearing out. I had her pick this fabric and the blue cord out at Fabric Mart in Honolulu (most fabrics are under $5 a yard there, and they have an online store). We also picked up grommets there. The blue fabric for the outside and the pocket is Trendtex Fabrics Ltd H-9268 and the pink inside is also Trendtex, pattern H-9270.

UPDATE July 2015: Just before school started this year (crazy-early, July 29th!) LJ decided she wanted a pink backpack instead of a blue one. So I ripped out the seams, flipped the fabrics around, and sewed it up again.

From the back, and in that dress.... She looks like a mini-you! Esp with that blonde ponytail.

I like her dress too.

OOPS! Is she standing on sister's toes in the picture?

Cute!!! Took my breath away--she looks just like my daughter when she was that age!!! Wow, you guys are sure starting school early. It's still summer, for pete's sake!

I know, even the teachers were mentioning how early it is. July 29, only eight weeks after the last day of school on June 3. Crazy! Miss A, as you can see, was very happy to see her big sister after the first day of school.
