Description

This is the first quilt which I stitched from beginning to end (including the quilting) by myself back in 2009-10. I joined the Mod Sampler quilt along on line here.

This quilt is 62″ X 53″ (a large lap size) and made with 1930s reproduction fabrics for the blocks, Kona white for the sashing, and has a pieced back made from left over blocks from the front and Anna Griffin's Christmas fabric which is a raspberry color and matches the raspberry in the quilt blocks. I also used that fabric for the border. The binding is pieced together scraps.

Straight line machine quilting was used throughout. I quilted parallel lines on the sashing, and for each block, I quilted a small square inside a larger square.

Thanks, True. This is the one I told you about when you were frustrated with your Swoon.

What a wonderful first quilt! I would be ashamed to show MY first quilt! I just love the Thirties repros and have a drawer-ful. This is a fun way to showcase a lot of different fabrics.

Thanks, Jan! This was actually my second quilt, but my first that I did all myself (the first one was one my sister helped me make and then I paid to have it quilted). I love the 30's reproduction prints!

I thought this might be it...let us hope I love Swoon as much when done;-) Or let us hope its new owner does...

If I were a bettin' woman, True, I'd bet it is going to be amazing exclamation

Ahhh, I like your style. Another one I'll be Pinning! So many ideas and so little time. Why do we have to sleep...
