Description

I have been saving jeans with holes in them and was happy to get to utilize some of them for this project.  :)

I did all of my hearts reverse applique.  It turned out okay for a first try at ever doing it.  I didn't follow the instructions in the book.  I didn't like the idea of gluing the pieces together and then cutting.  I instead traced the heart, cut it out.  Flipped the fabric over and roughly drew a 1/4 inch seam (a guide on how far to make clippings around).  Clipped all around.  I then ironed the the clipped edges using the quarter inch line as a guide.  Then I pinned my fabrics together and stitched around  on top.  I wasn't super consistent at first...but think I kinda got into a rhythm after a few tries.

Really pretty - love how you used old jeans. Think I may try your adaptation as don't like the idea of gluing either.

LOVE this version...some of my favorite fabric and the jeans are just too perfect. Lovely

I love the use of old jeans. I have a 9 year old and a tub of holey jeans to use on a future project. Good inspiration.

Love your take on this!

This is very pretty. I too was unsure about using glue on my fabric but I took a craftsy class and the instructor used glue. I got some of "Roxann's basting glue" and love it. Has a really good hold but washes completely out. If you decide to use glue on a different project, this is the one I would go with.

I like the idea of the jeans used in your quilt. It is so pretty, the floral with the jeans fabric. And I admire your doing the reverse applique!! I backed out of that this time...
