I would play around with adding borders starting with the purple you can get more of and then adding some other fabric that are in same color families as those you have used. We can get caught in needing to use all the same fabrics throughout but as the round robin some of us did I here taught me you can add different fabric and have it still look cohesive. You could also have one of the borders include the quarter yards you still have left...maybe a square within a square using them "floating" within a fabric that reads like a solid?
I like True 's idea of the square in a square. That carries the diamond theme over and you can make them as big as you want if you want to add a lot of width without doing several borders.
This is very pretty. I would think about adding some solid colors in the same color families as your prints. And I think the idea of a square in a square is a great one too.
square in a square idea is brilliant... I have enough fabric to do it... and will do the square in square with similar width purples b/w print squares. should work out well!! Thanks everyone for the ideas!
Great - excited to see it
I like the graphic quality of this design. Looking forward to seeing progress. Do you have enough fabric to finish the colored squares on the sides before starting borders?
Hand quilted it! Are you crazy?!? Glad your friend loves it! It is beautiful!
