Description

I found a pack of fat quarters at Craft Warehouse that wanted to come home with me.  I wasn't sure what I would do with it exactly, but I figured the prints would be darling in something for my daughter.  The package lived on my sewing room floor for months.  Finally, when my daughter was asking for a pink dress, I remembered them.
I traced off a rough bodice from a shirt that fits her well for the dress bodice.  I took the measurement of the lower seam and doubled that.  That gave me the length of the first ruffle.  I just doubled measurements until I felt the skirt was long enough.  To make finish work easy, I lined the entire bodice and fastened in the back with glittery pink buttons I found ages ago at Joan.
All in all, a fun stash project that my now 3 year old loves to wear.

How fun!! I am sure with all those gathers this could be a twirly dress!

I love quick projects like this - especially when my daughters will actually wear them.

It is a great twirly dress. She hasn't quite mastered the twirl yet though. Which makes me chuckle. With 3 big brothers, she's gonna have to find some girlfriends to teach her some more "girly" things. LOL

What a great idea! Very innovative. I know some ittle girls that would love a twirly dress like that!
