Description

I found this great pattern at Crossroads Quilting in Cameron MO last fall on a bus trip my mom and I sponsored.  I got the pattern, the finishing kit with all the vinyl, zippers, Velcro and a yard of soft and stable.  It cost way more than I would have ever paid for the bag itself but that is beside the point.  The Table Rock Quilt Guild had a three day quilting retreat at the library and I decided to tackle this bag.  It took 2.5 days of the 3 day retreat but I think it was worth it.

The pattern is called "A Place for Everything" and is from byannie.com.  It is so well written I had no problem understanding what needed to be done.  That is always a pleasant surprise cuz I've had some patterns where I just gave up on them and plowed on with out them.  Not this one which is a good thing cuz there were a ton of steps on this bag.  I found the outside fabric and lining fabric in my stash which I'm trying to dig into more often.  I have all this wonderful fabric sitting in cubbies in my sewing room and I need to get using it.

I've had a couple of people hint that they would like to have this bag as a gift but no way.  I'm keeping this one for myself.

I bought the Craftsy class for this and the travel bag by Annie, but I just haven't tried to make it yet. Yours turned out lovely! Great job!

Skynme thanks, it really wasn't hard just time consuming. I strongly suggest making sure your zippers have wide tapes. Made life much easier.

I love how this bag looks like the old lunchboxes I had as a child. That makes them definitely "old". The insides were a surprise and how fabulous with all the various sized zippered areas. Wonderful stitching, Seeneed , and bravo for holding own to this bag!!
