Description

A few years back, when I first joined TB, I did a swap for 5" Kona squares, in the Never Ending swap group. And they have sat on my shelf trying to inspire me. I finally decided on this block as we had done it in one of the Hives I was in and I thought it was lovely and had also seen a complete quilt using solids and white on Red Pepper Quilts. http://www.redpepperquilts.com/2011/06/finale-broken-dishes-quilt.html

I love text, as many of you know,  so I searched for a text print I could use. I found one I loved but just could not get any for months and then purely by accident found the one I settled on. It is Riley Blake Snapshots in grey. The backing fabric I also chose and got months ago. It is Colour names in black on white. It wasn't for this project but rather an "I have to have this". It is coming on nicely and I have enough kona squares to make a bigger quilt and it should end up as a 8x6 blocks.

How wonderful when things on the shelf for months come together in a project like this. Of course, I clicked the 'Love It' button.

Carolmarie thank you. Hopefully this one turns out as lovely as hers

Readerowl My resolution for this year is to try use fabric I have, and to get my tops complete before moving into something else. So hopefully something else speaks to me soon.

So great- the Konas, the background text print and the backing- all a wonderful combination- love it!
