Good luck! It sure is a gorgoeus quilt...so love seeing them online but know I would have issues making it.
They are doing this month by month at a quilt shop near me- it's a great quilt - but I understand the feeling - this is definitely a take your time and try to enjoy the process project!
Love the rainbow look! Is it made out of layer cakes??? The Super Sidekick looks like it could be useful!
Aizome I did buy the Super Sidekick and Hex and more rulers. I am a bit intimidated-trying to figure how where to start
The kit came with 3 Kona layer cakes to use for the piecing.
Vwgirl Sorry this isn't all that helpful but...I seem to remember someone online had a sew along for this- maybe if you google it ;)- I think its over but you should be able to read the archived posts and perhaps they would have some tips and such- if I come across it, remember where I saw it etc...I'll post again :)
That website looks very helpful. Looking forward to seeing you progress on this.
Vwgirl Yay! So glad you found it! I'm not saying anything new but it sure is amazing to me how different sewing and quilting is because of the Internet! If it had been this way 25 years ago when I was making quilts for my kids I would have had much better quilts!
HawkFan Thanks. I am still pretty nervous to cut into the fabric, but I'm just going to have to overcome my fear of messing up :)
Great beginning !
I bought the fabrics for this one . But I havn't yet begun ...
Do you envisage to make it quickly or to make only one or two block by month ?
Florence Thanks for your comments. I am hoping to finish up fairly quickly. This quilt is for my husband and his birthday is coming up in June, so to finish, I am going to have to hustle.
Looks awesome! Great progress!
Your little helper is very cute !!!
These are looking awesome!
You're making great progress on this. Looks great!
HawkFan Thanks. I am trying to have it done by June 20th.....cross your fingers. This is a birthday present for my husband :)
You are very brave to give this quilt a shot. I admire your determination; you go, Girl. I agree with you about what changes there have been since I was quilting when I kids were young! Your blocks are gorgeous!
Quilterinmotion I think I border between brave and crazy! I still remember opening the pattern (which is actually a 45 page book). I wanted to cry and actually packed all the materials up and put them back in their wrapping. It wasn't until I found this- http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/
It breaks the blocks down and gives you confidence. So grateful that the author and pattern maker is doing this.
