I love planning a new quilt! This will be so beautiful.
Can't wait to see what you decide to do! I have a chunk of that same main print except in the darker (navy?) colorway.
Oh this is going to be SO pretty in that pattern! I so love this fabric line!!! Can't wait to see your quilt :)
Are you going to start cutting this one soon? I'm anxious to see how gorgeous it will be :)
Oh Caribousmom you are learning me so well;-). If is am thinking of name I am thinking of cutting;-)!! I really want to see it as well and the mug rugs only got me more excited! So goal is to finish the disappearing four patch blocks and then once start sashing it can cut this one! Thanks Carolmarie and Saruqa I love this fabric to pieces!!
Very pretty. Can not wait to see what you decide to do with it
Love these fabrics. Will be watching for the finished quilt!
That is lovely fabric and will look fabulous as a scrappy quilt.
Sewnsew Thank you I love Terrain...have only just begun so have a ways to go but looking at it makes me happy!
I love it its going to be a beautiful quilt
I don't remember you posting this 2 months ago but I LOVE the fabric and I think the D9P won't let you down. This quilt reminds me of the colorway in your Elephant In The Room quilt. I just love seeing this purple showing up in the lines of fabric. Makes my heart sing! This is going to be gorgeous so get on it! Hey how did the auction go for your Star masterpiece?
Terryt1955 Thank you...I love Kate Spain fabric! The auction is this Thursday evening so stay tuned;-)
I'm going to see if Terrain is still available. It's between either Terrain or Good Fortune~ both of which I love. And I'll be thinking of you Thursday. Good Luck!!
And you are so right about colors and my other quilt...did not even think about it since arrived at them at different times and different ways. Interestingly colors and patterns are just diffferent enough so don't "go" but same colors!
So pretty- this is going to be wonderful- such gorgeous prints and the design is fresh and modern!
This quilt will be beautiful!! I love the colors and Kate Spain! I think I need to shop! Can't wait to see how you progress on this beauty! :)
Such bright and cheery fabrics. Love them paired with the white. :) Looks great so far True !
Swooning at your fabrics & blocks!!!❤
I love the arrangement you have chosen. The white really helps the gorgeous prints shine. It's going to be a beautiful quilt :)
SO glad to see you working on this one, Mary! It is going to be so, so pretty!!
This looks like a ton of fun to arrange...and rearrange.
I've become obsessed with white and modern looking quilts. This is just up my alley and I love, love the fabric line. I think this will be beautiful when you're done.
why haven't I seen this before .. I like the 9 patch it shows off the fabrics how they look in big and small units. And if you know that before you can choose certain farbics to show off int he large square and use something else in the others ... so you can have a pattern but still basically just sho off some charms you really love...
So pretty! I just bought jelly rolls of Serenade and Cuzco on Black Friday sales, I'm loving Kate Spain.
Thank you! I am the first to admit I'm spatially dyslexic (if there is such a recognized thing) and I have been trying to figure out how to do a quilt on Pinterest that said it was a 9 patch. For the life of me I couldn't figure out where to put the white squares and you just solved it with all your great pictures!!!! Seriously you just saved me hours!
One more favor dear friend. Can you make this possible to Pin? I have to save this on several of my boards!
Terryt1955 Glad it helped... I read it somewhere so I think in comments on Fresh Lemon Quilts where I got idea from (under tutorial). She did not do it as a D9P, as she wanted hers more planned, but I think someone said how to do it this way...and since I wanted the white but more scrappy I went with it. Got to get back to this one!!
This is so pretty! Love what you've got going so far!
I love the fabrics in this especially with the white background
I'm so glad to revisit this! I just got a layer cake of Simply Style and can so see it made up in this pattern. You know what I just realized? This sure looks a lot like Danish Delights! And I bet it goes together a whole lot faster!
Terryt1955 OMG you are right it does and is! This one is on my I must finish list...hopefully this fall. And Simply Style would be awesome in this pattern!
I hope you do finish it because I just love these colors!
Yay, you're breaking it out again! I just love this line by Kate Spain. In fact I love ALL her lines because she always has a touch of purple! Hope you reach your goal next week....
Terryt1955 I love her fabric but this is only line I have purchased. I still have three more days off so fingers crossed. BUT then I would have three tops in need of quilting...oh my!
You worked on this before I joined so this is the first time I've seen it - the fabrics look beautiful against the white and I like your arrangement
True It's okay to have 3 tops at one time. Go for it! There's no judgement going on here that's for sure (she says as she's looking at her stack of tops waiting to be sandwiched and quilted)....
HawkFan thank you...I loved it and have no clue why did not get back to it. Now have someone in mind to give it to so that might keep me motivated!!
Terryt1955 LOL I just hate the pressure of a pile up;-). But I want this one done so figure getting top there is one way to get it all the way done!
I forgot to ask if you used charm packs or yardage? How much did it require to do this quilt and what size did it end up being?
Okay I just saw the picture with the 2 charm packs so that answers that. Are you going to put 2 borders on this? Hurry up I'm dying to Pin it!
Terryt1955 yes I did it with all charm packs including the white...this is the one I mentioned when you were talking about the jelly rolls not being cut right. The white charms were not cut at 5"' thank God they were too big, but I had to recut them. I plan, at moment, to do two borders and have all the details written down I will find them and email them to you. I think it will be in range of 65-69" if I do borders. I want to see how look without them before decide. Was just thinking this morning this would also look awesome with all the middle block (that end up being small squares) in the same color/fabric.
I'm so glad you took the picture of the 9 patch before cutting so I could visualize what you were describing! Otherwise I would have had to break out my colored pencils! And yes doing the center square all in same fabric would give it a very different look (controlled scrappy) especially if it was a really bold color. I guess that should have read "saturated". I can SO see it! That;s a decent sized lap quilt with just 2 charm packs!
Terryt1955 you need 80 print charms and 64 white ones to make 16 nine patch blocks. If I add two borders it will be 64" square... So with out much smaller like 52"...
So great to see this in production again...such a pretty line and the design really shows it off!
Glad to see this one back on your design wall, Mary! Can't wait to see it finished!
Fun to see the top is done. It is wonderful
Its great Mary!!!
It looks great all put together!
My layer cake came in to make this pattern! I'm hoping to start it very soon!!!
Terryt1955 if you stick with it it is a quick one...that is why it took me a year and a half to get this far;-)
LOL! But yes dear, in between you have cranked out a lot of other quilts so something had to be put on the back burner!
Wow! Stunning, gorgeous, saturated, beautifully quilted, amazing...I'm running out of adjectives. Did I say "love it!?!?" Well I do! Fantastic, Mary!
Caribousmom thank you...not perfect but it will pass:-) and I do love the quilting now I am not doing it any more;-)
Congratulations on a Finish, True . Isn't that sense of accomplishment wonderful? The quilt is fantastic and I love your straight-line, matchstick quilting. It really is just right for this quilt. Love the colors too.
Quilterinmotion thank you...I love finishes!! But also always feel a bit lost even though have a zillion other projects waiting!
Gorgeous finish. I love the matchstick quilting!
That's a lot of quilting to do. I wouldn't blame you a bit for complaining
Great finish !
True great quilt. I love the fabric you chose and the quilting is perfect for the quilt.
Wow love this one. This gal would be rally happy with it too. You did great, but I would expect no less!!!!1
OMG I didn't realize you were doing the match stick quilting on this one! It looks so coo even if it was a pin in the butt. You already know how I love this quilt top but now even more so!
True Oh my, True!! This came out so pretty. I love your quilting on it. These fabrics are just so beautiful...love..love..
True me too. I hear the song 'Happy' by Farrell when I see it. The colors are bright and cheerful.
