I recently designed a reversible cape/quilt for children. It is a cape, similar to ones you would see on super heros. It is also a small quilt that children can use on their beds at night.
A couple of months ago I attended a program educating the public on fleece blankets and capes that are designed for children in hospitals. (They require no sewing, simply cutting.)
In recent months I have become quite interested in the Kentucky Refugees Center, kyrm.org, in Lexington, Kentucky. This is a non-profit organization that provides resettlement services to refugees from other nations. Often times families will arrive in town with only the clothing on their backs.
People throughout the Bluegrass area donate all kinds of items to this program, including bedding. I had made two children's quilts for this program and when I saw the fleece capes, it came to met that a cape/quilt might be fun for kids plus help with bedding.
