Description

June 23, 2015  I've liked this block that I found in an old catalog for a long time and started to play with possibilities for a bunk quilt for a guild summer project (next summer, that is--working ahead). I've added variations found in Barbara Brackman's Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns with their numbers in her numbering system. I plan some combination of the three blocks. Each block 15 x 15 finished.

July 14, 2015 I'm calling it finished because this is the way I am turning it in. Someone at guild will tie it or quilt it and make it fully ready for next summer. The top is finished and so am I. Its destination is Strength for the Journey, a camp next summer where each new participant gets a quilt.

In addition to using three variations of the traditional block, I also used mirror image.  On my blog I wrote a tutorial for QST as I make them--putting the link in the tutorial spot.
