Description

On Flickr I decided to participate in my first ever flickr swap - Modern She Made.  All participants were given a partner (a mystery in a sense since you know your partner buy not who is making for you!).  We were to design and make something 'modern' in style and it was to be our "best work" (no pressure right!!!) and the finished product was to have at least one circle incorporated somehow.  The organisers were very organised (!) and we had detailed forms to fill in giving two or three preferences of what we would like made for us.  Very helpful when you know what your partner would like.

Anyway, one of my partner's requests was for a bag big enough to hold her 12" embroidery hoop and books as she was new to embroidery and often carried 'how to' embroidery books with her.  she also said she loved blues, greys and yellows.  The fabric I found is of decorator weight and just the right colours.

It is a work in progress although I have to get a wriggle on as the deadline is looming ever closer.  These photos represent the raw materials I will be using.

I will post more photos as I make bits of the bag.

Thanks sew much. I really enjoyed it. People post photos at all stages of their sewing not just the end so it was great to see projects evolve to the finished stage. blue_heart Karen.

I love this bag - that middle section would make a great laptop pouch. I hope you're publishing the pattern for it soon - I'll buy it!

WOW and I have been looking all over for this pattern. So glad I decided to write the comments before searching anymore for it Please please make it soon because it's just great and I would love to make one.

In fact, it is my next pattern to be released. I will be listing it in the Threadbias shop when it is done. A few weeks tops. Thanks for your support - it is always such a risk when you write a pattern - what if nobody likes it??? you might cry!!!!! blue_heart Karen
