Description

My first patchwork quilt top, loosely based on the Snapdragon Quilt in Pam & Nicky Lintott's Jelly Roll Quilts: Two From One. I used an assortment of fat quarters I picked up from the LQS and Lincraft, and I made the quilt larger than the one in the book.

Update Nov 2013: Not much time for sewing this year but over the last month or so I have been gradually working on quilting this one. I've so far quilted 20+ of the 63 blocks - the quilting design I chose isn't the quickest, but I do like it. Photos will come eventually...

Congratulations on your first quilt!-love the cool blues:) now you'll have to somehow work Quilting into the novels:)

Kirstenblake

Great job on your first quilt! The blues are beautiful.

Wow! My first project comments smile (Excuse me, I'm new here!)

Thanks, Mymble and Kirsten! I've always loved blues and teals, so it's been a pleasure to play with this one. Mymble, I don't give me characters much time to relax and quilt - they're usually too busy fighting/investigating crime to even eat properly! - but I suspect a secondary character in the current book is a quilter smile

This is so lovely - and really, your first??!?! Wow, impressive.

True

A very beautiful quilt...and amazing as a first! Welcome and I love the colors!

Thanks, Caribousmom and True! Yes, it is my first quilt, but I have been sewing for... ahem... many years. I made a couple of teapot mats - single blocks, with borders, quilted and bound - as practice first, before I started on this quilt top. I can mostly get the seams to match up smile

Beautiful!! I am a fan of blue, so this one speaks to me. Great job!!

You better watch it. You might throw your writing to the wind and get quickly absorbed into the quilting vortex! Great job on your first of many quilts.

Chrissybugs

My first quilt did not come out quite this well. Good for you!

This is a beauty... way to go! One of my favorite layouts and you nailed it.
