Description

Once I saw Crazy Mom Quilts' no-triangle zigzag quilt tutorial, I knew I had to make it. It became a baby quilt for a friend. Really easy! I ended up sort of fussy-cutting the zoo animal fabric because some of the giraffe heads were getting cut off, but it all worked out.

I think this was my first FMQ attempt, too. I remember the moment when it just CLICKED and started working the way I'd planned. If you haven't tried FMQ, what are you waiting for?! I'm using a basic $300 Baby Locks machine. Really the biggest limitation is the machine's throat size, but it's doable.

I used a Ty Pennington home decor fabric for the back, and hand-appliqued (raw edge) a monogram using the binding fabric.

Love this- and the applique on the back is so cute. Good for you for just working through getting used to free motion quilting..great results.
