Description

One thing I love to do is to make baby quilts to give away. They go to the NICU or to my church or to friends...I have sent some to Australia and New Zealand. I usually work on 4-6 at a time, doing one step on all of them, then the next step on all. This group of 5 are my latest.

These are sooooooo pretty. I made so many quilts for my first granddaughter that my daughter had to tell me to stop. lol. There are just perfect. I can just picture a little one all warm and snuggled in one of these.

Quick question, did you do them in a envolpe style for the binding?

Janquilter

There is no binding. I use the quick turn method that Eleanor Burns teaches...sew top and back right sides together with the batting (I use poly batt) then turn and hand sew the opening closed. Then I tie the quilts with floss and do a stitch in the ditch around the border seem, on the machine. My goal with these is make them quick and make a lot of them. They are just the right size to put in the isolette in the NICU...or over the top of the incubator which keeps the light out. Oh I also send one along with each foster baby that lives in our home.
