These are gorgeous and adorable and so useful and creative. I would have loved getting something like this as a gift...plus a quilt!! I just love the fabric and the elephant and giraffe are just too sweet! I can see why you want to keep them:-)
Hey do we get to see the quilt as well???
True Thanks! I will definitely post the quilt as soon as I finish it I chopped up the fabric and have it all cut out (because I needed the pieces for the baskets), I just have to get it all pieced and such. The shower is on Sunday, so it's down to the wire now.
These are adorable...and such a great baby shower gift for her to use afterwards (I can see these on a painted bookshelf in the baby's room filled with books, or stuffed toys...really anything. Very creative (and they will coordinate with the quilt too which is awesome!).
Oh, I meant to ask - where did you get the pattern?
Oh, never mind - found it!
Caribousmom it is a downloadable pattern that I found from online... if you google fabric nesting bowls pattern, I think you should be able to find it (I'm not sure what the rules are on this site for linking up)
Turtlesrs you can put the link to the blog in as a tutorial if you want as that takes people directly to her site where they can purchase pattern if they want. I can hardly wait to see the quilt...you have lots of time;-).
I love these. In my dreams, I would make these then my whole world would be organized. Alas, I know better.
these are great! cannot wait to see the quilt
Just popped over from your quilt project and don't know how I missed these little gems! So cute and so practical and I SO want to do it for my "future" sewing room. Did you applique the animals on first and then construct the basket? Or are they fabric glued on? I guess I should just read the tutorial!!
Terryt1955 I just kind of winged it. The pattern is for the baskets (or the baskets with strips). I used some kind of Thermoweb and ironed the shapes on and then machine appliqued them. They turned out cute, but it was a bit slow stitching around them.
