Description

I have decided to start christmas early. My first  christmas project this year is my Christmas Sample Qwillow. This will have a nine block front with the tenth block on the back for the pocket.  The blocks will be made up of English Paper Piecing, American Piecing and Applique work.
The fabric I have choosen has mainly come out of my sewing baskets they are; A plain red cotton, 12 days of Christmas by Katie Spain for Moda, Winterberry Lane by Terry Degenkolb of Whimsicals for Red Rooster, and Count down to Christmas by Moda. The only new one I have brought is the sashing and backing fabric which is Peppermint and Hollyberries by Nancy Halvonson.
The method I am going to use is quilt as you go. I have completed two blocks, which need to be sashed and put together as a quilt sandwich and then quilted. I am just starting my third with is a Father Christmas block. I have now completed the blocks and they are ready for sashing and quilting.
Well I have started putting it together and nearly completed the quilting. Soon it will be finished. I shall add new pics next week.
Just pieced together. Just have to complete the back pocket and bind the edges. Pleased to say its finished and was up on display for our annual "Quilts on the Line show". Our quilt group breaks for summer holidays so this is our end of year show.

Carolmarie I love quilt as you go, I have quilted a whole quilt but I did find it a pain too much fabric to hold. I hand sew my quilts as I am not that confident on my sewing machine.

Thank you all for your lovely comments

I love this, it is so festive and modern. Did you follow a pattern, if so what is it?
