Love fabric and love quilting idea!
Love American Jane - and this is a great use of that fabric!!!
Thanks! I loved all the prints, so I just bought a charm pack. This would have been really great as a larger layer cake too though - I just didn't want to spend the $40 on it. I'm cheap like that... mostly because I'm trying to use up my stash. I did have to buy backing - but we won't tell my husband about that.
Very cute quilt! Hahah about not telling your husband about the backing fabric. I hide mine in the car and bring it in after he has fallen asleep! It's not so much the money as it is bringing home MORE fabric. "But honey, if I don't get it now it will be gone or worse yet, out of print".
I've been trying to use up my stash, so it's hard for him to understand purchasing more fabric to finish a quilt.
I understand that. That's how I end up with the charm pack for this project.
I think that we all become quilts because of our love of fabric. Hmm, maybe we should have an "intervention" at the quilt store for us who buy more fabric then we need. I do not think there is a shop big enough. I love your use of the fabric in this one.
Thanks Quilt455! But, I don't think any fabric shop owner would really want to stage interventions. How would they make any $?
I love the incredible versatility of HST's. The sewing is so easy and then you can play with the design until you find one you love. This is so dramatic with the diagonal lines...I love it.
It's so sweet.
I too love HSTs for their pattern versatility. You're quilt looks awesome and how nice that your MIL offered to quilt it for you! :)
Ok that's going to be so cool that the quilting will include the dot to dot images!
True I'm pretty excited about it. I haven't seen any of it yet, but I'm sure it will be lovely when my mother-in-law is done with it. :)
This is really cute.
Your quilt designs really make the most of the feature fabric by surrounding them with a darker, more neutral fabric. Very clever idea!
