Description

Elizabeth at "Don't Call Me Betsy" had a Christmas in July full of great tutorials. I saw this one b SewCraftyJess and had to try it. I used scrap fabrics from Moda's Summer Breeze that I had left over from a quilt I made my mother. Since it's her birthday, I thought I'd make a sleeve for her Kindle.

In adddition to the Summer Breeze scraps, I used decorator fabric I found at JoAnn's to complement the scraps I had. I used the scraps to make half square triangles and then played with them until I liked the design. The tutorial is great and I found the project went quickly.

The only issues I had was that she has a Kindle DX so I adjusted the measurements for the bigger size but I think it worked out okay. There is also a large pocket on the front and back of the sleeve. I'll see what she thinks on August 13th!

Update: I just found that my iPad with protective cover fits wonderfully into this sleeve! Another cute way to carry around my gadgets .

Very nice, I just love the blue and yellow together. Never thought to make a cover for my nook.

Your sewing is so accurate. I love blue and yellow together. Nice job!

This is a great idea and I love fabric choices...

The colors you used on this are great. I'm curious, does this open and what does the back look like?

Kathie

It does open at the top (where the loop closes on the button). The back looks exactly like the front. I'll try to add some more pictures showing this.
Thank you everyone for the great feedback! It really helps as my husband usually says, "that looks nice" smile .
