Just wanted to add that I have been printing my own papers on card stock from a template on the Internet and using scraps from my 2.5 inch scrap basket for these (I leave them square )
Well I cannot imagine making these I sure like seeing them...I love the picture by the water- it is like you can take a picture all the places your hexies have been;-)
I am so impressed by those quilters who take the time to make these tiny hexies! I'm so glad you are enjoying it - I'm sure these are going to make a fabulous quilt...can't wait to see it finished!
I hope to someday to have this much skill. love them
These are great! ...I love all your photos too. They will make a lovely quilt. I do the same thing- print my own papers and do my own cutting-and take them with me ...yup...everywhere...give a lot of satisfaction on the go:))
Hats off to you. I failed Hexies 101 and someday should try it again without a timeline attached to it! They look beautiful!
I just had a flash of that cute little elf on a shelf. You have your hexies instead!
Decided to use Kona in Celery for borders around my flowers. It is so fun to start to put it together. I have no idea how many hexies I'll need or flowers. Just switching back and forth between making more flowers and sewing them together now. Who knows what I'll end up with!
The celery is perfect!
I worked on my hexy flowers this weekend with my friend Gayle (see ^annamariaquilt). Got her addicted! And my little son likes to play with my "fabwic heskies".
Added more pictures of my "travelling hexies", as we just got back from vacation :)
Amazing. I watched a friend put hers together a few years ago and I was in awe. I love the look, but have no thought of making one. This one is just so pretty.
Your project is really lovely. The fabrics you have used are very pretty and go so well together.
I really like the smaller size of your hexagons. I'm currently working on a quilt using the larger size and I'm now tempted to try a project with the smaller size. Perhaps a pillow to start? The colours are just beautiful and I love how it's coming together.
That is awesome. What a cool quilt. Nice job, I envy you. A hexie quilt is on my "to do" list which keeps getting longer and longer.
Coraquiltscarla I love your quilt! It reminds me of my paternal grandmother who taught we how to quilt and this was the first pattern she sent me home with. I think you have just inspired me make my own! Thanks.
Hexagon quilts are on y list of projects to try and you are doing a wonderful job. Thank you for sharing.
love it! are these one inch hexies?
Carolmarie I wish! The top is only half done, and then of course it must be hand quilted :). But I'm happy with how far I've gotten in 2 years!
This is beautiful!!! I am making one also. Mine is about half done....in 8 years. But I put it away and take it out again. Someday......
