Description

I just thought this fabric was pretty and wanted to make a simple patchwork quilt. I played around with the layout a bit and added in some other fabrics until I was pleased with the look. I blogged about how it evolved if you want to check it out. http://thesewingchick.blogspot.com/2012/08/the-evolution-of-quilt.html

This one is finished!!!!

Amanda

I love how pretty and simple and fresh this looks.

I think simple is under rated. I like how the fabric is nicely showcased here (and such sweet fabric). Is the large scale daisy print part of the FMF?

True

Love this and commented on your blog this morning!! I love how you shared your process of getting to the pattern you used. It is very, very pretty and comforting.

Thesewingchick

Terryt1955 ummmm...the FMF?

Thesewingchick

True I just looked at the blog comments again. I didn't know that was you. Glad I do now :) Thanks for your kind words.

Quilt455

I just love the gray fabric. Something I have never used. This is really pretty.

Terryt1955

Thesewingchick sorry, FMF is short for Flea Market Fancy. I thought I recognized some of it in your quilt....

True

I love your blog!! And I seldom comment on any but you drove me to it;-)

Janquilter

This is a lovely quilt. it is great when "just" squares yield such a beautiful creation. The fabrics are used so well.

Thesewingchick

Terryt1955 Oh, duh, I should have figured that one out. The daisy prints are all from the Daisy Cottage collection.

Thesewingchick

Janquilter Thank you! I think that if the piecing gets too detailed, you lose sight of the print in the fabric. There are so many lovely fabrics that I want them to be the focus. Well, that and my short attention span requires me to get them done quickly!!

Thesewingchick

True You always make me smile :)

True

Thanks +theswewingchick that makes my day! And I agree sometimes the fabric can get lost in all the piecing and you allowed the grogeous fabric to shine!

True

oops been away from computer and typing is even worse than usual let's try again Thesewingchick

Terryt1955

Did you hear my "OHHHHHH" all the way from San Jose? This is SO nice, SO nice! I will never NOT piece a back again. And a great pattern to showcase all these wonderful prints.

Mymble

This is so lovely- really love the greys worked in with the soft colors- just wonderful!

Thesewingchick

Terryt1955 Oh, me too! I pieced this back out of necessity - didn't have enough fabric, but I like it so much, I too will never not piece a back again! And thank you for your enthusiastic comments - made my day :)

Caribousmom

I love this fabric and I love how you put it all together...those little pops of white are perfect!

Conniharns

This is so pretty. I love the binding! I am a stripe freak!

Thesewingchick

Caribousmom Hey, cool "reply" button. That must be new! Thanks Wendy. I trust all is well out in CA??

Caribousmom

Thesewingchick I love that reply button! We're looking toward cooler weather this weekend ... and I am hoping those clouds I see gathering are for rain!

Katisquilting
