This is a lovely quilt for a little boy. I have never tied a quilt before. I am a chicken - always afraid it may come untied!! Karen.
Thanks, Karen. I tie a lot of baby quilts. (a LOT...I give away piles of them to my church). Eleanor Burns taught a way to tie that is just about fool proof. I use six strands of embroidery floss or perle cotton and tie a surgeon's square knot. When tying, wrap the left thread over the right, twice and pull tight, then wrap the right over the left twice and pull...it holds really well through countless washings. I usually finish with machine quilting in the ditch around the border.
