Description

A few weeks ago, Rebecca asked for us Threaders to contribute a block for a quilt they are making. I procrastinated and procrastinated, unsure of what I wanted to do. With one day to spare, I started digging through my scraps and was quite pleased to discover that I had a nice variety of prints in the asked for colors of orange, green and aqua. Once I started cutting and sewing, I had so much fun with it that I wished I had allowed myself enough time to do a second block! Alas, one will have to do. I feel this one is a good representation of my style, which I think is what Rebecca was after. I hope she likes it!

Ohhhhh! I want you to share how you did this! Hey I see my fabric from the swap in there. Does that mean I contributed after all? LOL!

Terryt1955

Pinned!

Rebecca

Very cool block! This is going to look fantastic in the quilt!

Robynie

Sweet! I'm hooked on that large Art Gallery flower print you used for the center, I used a few bits on my blocks as well. I think I'm going to end up wishing I had more than a fat quarter!

Terryt1955 that is so cool to see fabric from the swap in the block!! BUT...you do not get off that easy my dear!

Caribousmom

This is wonderful! I am loving how each of the blocks really do represent the style of the quilter making them...lovely!

Thesewingchick

Thanks! You guys are all so sweet and supportive!
Terryt1955 - Haha. I actually used four dots from the swap!!
Robynie Carolmarie The flower in the center is a Heather Bailey Fresh Cut fabric. The colors are perfect so I had to use it!!
Rebecca I am so glad you like it!!

Terryt1955 I just stitched 1.25" strips around the center hexagon in a log cabin style. I cut them longer than necessary and trimmed after stitching and pressing. Same with the white corners - cut a piece too big, stitch, press and trim. Maybe I'll do a blog post about that...about time I did a tutorial ;)

Amanda

Love this!

Never having done a hexie of any kind I wouldn't know how to start doing a log cabin around one. So when you're up for it I for one would love to see a tutorial. This block is just too cute!
